Click here to open the flyer License examinations are conducted locally by the Mount Vernon VEC on the second Saturday of each month at the First Christian Church, 2723 King St., Alexandria, VA. More look up information on licensing exams in your area. You can even take a practice exam on the Internet, or search the on-line database for your new license. If you don't know what your new callsign is yet, start by just searching on your last name. If that produces too many hits, try last name comma first name. Note that the search engine considers suffixes to be part of the last name, so to search on John Q. Public, IV, you would enter Public IV, John. Don't enter a Radio Service Code. (You can, but you'd better enter the correct one. For some reason, the FCC has separate Radio Service Codes for "Amateur" and "Vanity" callsigns. You won't get any data if you choose the wrong one; it's best left unselected.) << Back |
